#1 A Character
Identify what your customer wants, which invites them into a story.
Every story begins with a character who wants something. Identify the hero show what they want.
#2 Has A Problem
Identify a problem that makes them feel something and hooks them into the story.
People can only identify with making a gain or saving pain. If they can identify a problem, they can look for a solution. They will keep reading if the problem is bad enough that they need to find out if the problem has been solved and can be solved.
#3 And Meets A Guide
Position yourself as a guide and provide some hope they can solve their problem.
People can only identify with making a gain or saving pain. If they can identify a problem, they can look for a solution. They will keep reading if the problem is bad enough that they need to find out if the problem has been solved and can be solved.
#4 Who Gives Them a Plan
You need to give your customers a plan. Just three or four steps that explain how easy it is to work with you.
Help them overcome the barriers to their success. And remember, since you’re the guide, you’re going to have to outline a plan so your hero can win the day.
#5: And Calls Them to Action
Your Audience won’t take action unless they are challenged to take action.
As the guide in your customer’s story, you must challenge them to buy something from you and this challenge must be very, very clear.
#6: That Helps Them Avoid Failure
Heroes are compelled into action because something is at stake. They were compelled to in order to avoid a tragic ending (failure).
Every customer is trying to avoid a tragic ending, too. What that means for your brand is you must clearly communicate the negative consequences of what will happen to your customers if they do not buy your products or services.
##7: And Ends in a Success
What does success look like for your character, do they know, can they feel it, see it smell it, or taste it.
Help your reader envision life with their problems solved. Show them what their life can be like without a toothache, with more money in the stock market, with their lawn looking amazing, or loving the way those clothes feel or fit.
